Being semi funded by Vice Chairman Mike Barnard and his charity.
Our Community Programmes are growing and we now engage with two local Primary Schools Eversley & Briscoe with National Curriculum PE lessions and after school clubs. These lessions take place term time between Monday & Thursday each week. Meaning we are engaging with 350+ pupils per week in schools.
We are hoping many more local schools with begin to see the benefit of our school programmes.
Our Bowers in the Community Development Centre on a Saturday is lead by Joe. He is supported by other coaches Joe Burgess, Daniel Monk, Tom Wakeling, Jason Hall & Danny Kerrigan. We also have a growing section of coaches that we are putting through there qualifications. Gavin Golding, Ashley White, Mark Whitehead, Tony Buckley, Chris Hamilton & Neil Larocque. All our coaches & volunteers are DBS checked!!! The boys and girls enjoy a safe fun environment to play their football. We averaged 45 players each week during 2018 and are looking to grow our numbers further during 2019.
The Community Development Centre is a feeder section to Bowers & Pitsea YFC and have already pushed through 13 organised teams since April 2016.
During the school holidays Bowers in the Community run Soccer Schools, during the summer of 2017 their were over 400 day bookings. We run these Soccer Schools during Easter, Whitsun, Summer and October holiday periods.
We has a growing fundraising & admin team of Claire Larocque, Alex White & Sarah Aubin as we look to expand our club further.
In 2019 Bowers in the Community started it's Senior Programme, 1st on the agenda was creating Walking Football sessions.
The 1st Walking Football session was on Monday 4th February 2019 on the Bowers 3G at Bowers & Pitsea FC.
